How it started
We're Ferry Construction & Excavation, a St. Joseph, MO company owned and run by Hayden Ferry.
The business started with excavation, grading lots, digging trenches, moving dirt for other people's projects. That's still the name and that's still the core of the work. Over time it grew into the building side: framing houses, setting roofs, building decks and porches, putting up fence, and going inside for remodeling and flooring work. Instead of handing a job off to different crews for the dirt and the build, we do both.
How we work
Straight answers and a site left clean
Customers call or text us directly, so what you talk about is what shows up when we get there. If a job needs a site visit before it can be priced right, that happens before any number gets thrown out. When the work's done, we clean up the dirt, the cutoffs and the trash before we leave.
Some jobs are quick, a fence line or a trench for conduit. Others take longer, like framing a house from the ground up. Either way the approach is the same: look at the site, talk through what it actually needs, and give a clear price before anything starts. A property might need dirt work one year and a remodel the next, and either way it's the same crew you're calling back.
What we take on
Excavation, construction and remodeling
We handle excavation and grading, trenching, new home construction and framing, roofing, decks and porches, fencing, remodeling and interior work, and tree removal and storm cleanup. If a job crosses between a couple of those, like clearing and grading a fence line, or repairing a roof after storm damage, that's normal for us, not an exception.
The company is licensed and insured in Missouri and Kansas. We're based in St. Joseph and take jobs from there south through the Northland and across the Kansas City metro. See the full service area for the towns we cover.
